  • Minister Aglukkaq Applauds Enforcement Officers following Conviction in Narwhal Tusk Trafficking Case

    IQALUIT, Nvt. – October 2, 2013 – The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of the Environment, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency and Minister for the Arctic Council, today released the following statement in response to news of the resolution of Operation Longtooth with the conviction of Gregory (Greg) Logan for illegally smuggling about 250 narwhal tusks into the United States.

    OSLO, Norway – September 3, 2013 – Canada’s Environment Minister and Minister for the Arctic Council, the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, today issued a statement following her trip to Oslo, Norway, where she participated in the High Level Assembly of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants, and to enhance cooperation with Norway at the Arctic Council.
